Lazy Lavender Lace

Look a bit 'lost in the headlights' in this one!

Went out last night for a delicious curry to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday. Nice quiet evening - dinner, couple of drinks and hone for midnight... No chance! Remeber crawling into bed around 4.30am this morning, room spinning etc. Got up to total carnage in the living room and this outfit in a heap on the floor. Suffered all day today, so this is a nice n easy lazy outfit post. Now where's my stodgy dinner?

And The Winner Is...

ME!

CONGRATULATIONS

YOUR BID ON THE DENIM CORSET DRESS HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL

YOU HAVE WON A ONE OF KIND PIECE DESIGNED EXCLUSIVELY BY ZIAD GHANEM FOR FIRETRAP AND EXHIBITED AT VAUXHALL FASHION SCOUT SEPTEMBER 2009.

OMG!! I can't believe it - I have won the corset dress! Ziad is my
favourite designer and I am totally made up and really pleased my cash
is going to a worthwhile cause and not feckin Topshop for a change!

Strap Me In

Straight-Jacket Buckle Boots by Christopher Bailey for Burberry A/W 2010

How did I miss these?? They are everything I could ever wish for in a pair of boots - black, cosy, knee high, and strap upon strap of sheer delight! Well I do have a special birthday coming up this winter...

Faking It

I've been a fan of Henry Holland's Mock Stock Tights for ages, but these Bow Print tights modelled by Karolin Wolter for Tush 1 2010 are just delicious. Think I'd rock them with a pair of high-waist denim shorts and wedges.

If Only Money Grew On Trees

This piece by Ashish is perhaps a bit too 'costume', bit too 'Gaga' and a bit too 'wicked witch', but there's just something about it...

These PPQ wrap around/tie-on platforms are stunning and they'd show off my swallow tattoos into the bargain! The chunky as hell necklace is the bees-knees too. Anyone know if it's designed by PPQ as well?

Love Christopher Kane's gladiator knee-highs

This ultra cute cut away black dress by Marios Schwab. Not sure about the nude ankle boots - I'd probably team it with some shiny patent thigh-highs...

This is Ziad Ghanem's electric blue dress from his 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds'-A/W 2010/11 collection. I would happily only ever wear Ziad's creations for the rest of my life, it was difficult to choose just one. If you've got plenty of spare Spring cash floating around, hop over HERE to bid on an original design. But keep your paws off the denim corset - it's mine!

Cake and Sodomy

Macarons and on and on

Before...

During...

After...

Back in sunny Glesga after a fantastic weekend in London. Froze our toes off on a Jack the Ripper walk then back to the flat for an evening of debauchery, log fire and the company of four adorable kitty-cats! Spent Sunday considering a trip to Somerset House but toast and beans won the day. Never quite made it to Vivienne of Holloway, but there was nothing that could keep me back from the cakes on offer at Laduree - Scrumdiddlyumptious!

London Calling

I'll be in London this weekend for a friend's birthday. Whilst desperately hanging about outside Fashion Week shows, I plan to visit Vivienne of Holloway. She stocks lots of adorable 40s and 50s dresses.

I wore this one to a couple of weddings last year and I'm hoping to be able to try on a few more in the shop. I think the pink and white love heart Valentine's Special is my favourite so far.

In the Foyer of the Wynn Hotel in Vegas last October

All the dresses are nipped in at the waist and boned which gives me a fake waist (I just go straight up and down and out at all the wrong places). The only minor problem is that they actually strangle me - cut me right in two. But hey, you gotta suffer a little, don't you? Just need to lay off the cakes...

However, a wee trip to Laduree at Harrods is not out of the question. Any other suggestions for nifty little boutiques or cafes in the big smoke?

Curiouser and Curiouser

I've been a dedicated Alice fan for as long as I can remember and I'm getting more and more curious about Tim Burton's new creation. The revised storyline is a bit off putting, but the costumes - the costumes look just as they should - psychedelic!

And how about this?? A Mad Hatter Barbie!

Possibly more intriguing is Camille Rose Garcia's illustrated version. I was given a copy of "The Magic Bottle" by a friend for my last birthday and the thought of her creepy yet adorable creatures illustrating Lewis Carroll's original tale fills me with so much excitement! I've just popped a copy into my Amazon basket - you should too x

Here is the artist herself talking about the creative process behind the book.

New York, New York

Maybe it's simply the black on black pallette, but the first collection to grab my attention this year has to be Rad Hourani's. Of course, the pretty boys in skin tight gloss leggings and heels help...

More pretty boys graced the runway for PetrouMan, this time accessorising with spectacular headdresses. Check those cheekbones! I'd never heard of the designer until this week and this collection makes me want to find out more.

Finally, what do you make of Alexander Wang's AW collection? I adore the "elephant bell" wool leggings that go all the way from the top of your thigh right down and covering your foot, but not sure about the rest...

There Is A First Time For Everything

So I finally got the bottle to take some outfit pics. Decided to use my new iphone, so excuse the crap quality - won't be using it again...
Went out last night for a fantastic Greek meal for a friend's birthday. After mountains of yummy goodness and litres of cheap wine, I'm feeling a little ropey today.

True Art Never Dies

Miss Bowjangles

I just can't resist a little bit of PVC and lace - especially all tied together in a great big bow.
Katherina Andreeva has just began advertising on one of my favourite blogs, Haute Macabre. I've got 4 weddings to attend this summer and the delightful wee Minnie Mouse-esque hat above will be mine! With my black hair I think I'd prefer a coloured skull cap, I hope Katherina can do turquoise...

Durty Mac

So this day has finally arrived. After work, I meet my brother to get my friends and family deal on an iphone. I am ridiculously excited.

It's about time...

I've been tied in to my old contract and pathetic old phone for far too long.
I arranged to get my PAC code a couple of weeks ago, diligently wrote it down on the back of a business card and slipped it snuggly inside my purse for 'the big day'. The big day arrived - Sunday. Set off into town - double checking that I've got the code. Yip - it's still there and purse is zipped safely into my gorgeous new black leather, studded, "take me with you" bag.

Set off into town, complaining to my beau that my brother's always late - no point in rushing - we'll just have to wait outside the shop. Arrive at shop and who shows up bang on time? What a star! I give all the credit to his girlfriend for that.

Speak with very nice, friendly - not too pushy, sales assistant, Brian. I can hardly contain my excitement - big cheesy grin across my face. "Just need to take a few details and then you can have your phone"... Name...address...bank details...
"Eh?? I've got my card and my code, but you want my account details??"
What a plum - I had been so excited and hell bent on remembering my stupid code that I totally forgot I'd need ID and direct debit information...
Cheesy grin swiftly wiped away only to be replaced by a rather embarrassed red face and a childish temper tantrum.

Needless to say, I left the house today armed with every form of ID AND my account details. It had better happen tonight.

In anticipation I've been checking out some apps. First on the list to download will be "Tap Tap Revenge NIN" - what better way to spend the bus journey to work in the morning?

I'm open to all suggestions, so if you have a favourite app please recommend!

Just an excuse for a nice pic of Trent

Harnessing Your Desires

A friend asked what my must have accessory of 2010 would be. Without a shadow of a doubt it's the body harness. Perfect for all black wearing, flat chested girlies like myself. This is Zana Bayne's leather bondage harness which is divine, but maybe only for certain occassions. Can't see me wearing to a summer wedding, well, maybe...

RIP Lux

That's Really Swish

These are sketches by Spiros LaFierce of Ziad Ghanem's new collection which will be shown on 22nd February at London Fashion Week. His show's called 'The Vampire Burlesque' and will feature Immodesty Blaize. Personally, I hope it's a little more vampire than burlesque...

I adore Ziad's mix of high-end couture with ready to wear recycled clothing and he's inspired me to become a little more economical with my wardrobe contents. In fact, tonight I'll be airing my wares at a clothes swap event in the city centre, Swish!, upstairs at the Junction Bar, West George Street. I've got a couple of vintage pieces to swap - neither of which I've actually worn. A pair of shoes - worn once to a wedding, and a bunch of other nearly new items. I'd love to pick up something I can modify - something I can 'pimp' up... watch this space...

Metal Mickey

I feel like a robot today - going through the motions. Work is brain-numbingly dull...
But, on a '10 minute' me-time break, I stumbled across this wonderful Heavy Metal Corset.

I would probably look more Tin Man than Barbarella wearing it, but I'd settle for this replica raygun instead.
