Boo!
No, it's not a wig - I've FINALLY gone lilac!!! Thanks to Denise for recommending Jennifer @ Cusp Hair Salon, Argyle Street, Glasgow.
Jen spent 2 hours bleaching the ginger out, followed by two applications of the purple (a mixture of Fudge Paintbox Purple Haze and Crazy Colour Violette. There was still some ginger that refused to budge so we had to put a slightly darker shade of purple on top than I had been hoping for (top pick), but, after a few days of washing, the results are perfect! That's a photo of me at work on Saturday:
Can't wait until I finally feel well enough to rock my new 'do in public. This lurgy is still hovering around my sinuses and settling in my chest - nasty! I've also been experimenting with Instagram recently. Find me here @baroque_boudoir and follow me so I can follow you back ;-)

ReplyDeleteooooooooh, really nice!
ReplyDeletebut can i hassle you for some advice? how long do you find that it lasts? i did the dipped ends thing in green last month (i used fudge too, "green envy") but it was gone in 3 shampoos, i was so disappointed! my ends were already lightened so it showed up a lot, but it washed out way too soon for me to really enjoy it. do you have any tips to make these kind of colours last longer?
Wow it looks amazing, I love it!! :) xx
ReplyDeleteThank you ladies for all your kind comments. The colour has really faded over the past week - which was my intention (this time!) so I'll post another wee shot later today.
ReplyDelete@Chloe, I'm afraid I have no magical solution. Vegetable dyes in general are rejected by my hair. I am also in the bad habit of washing mine every single day, so vibrant shades last a maximum of a week, but realistically, 3 days. Unfortunately your only options are to top up every weekend OR, like a close friend of mone, train your hair to only require washing once a week. Wish I could be more helpful! x
You have such hair dedication! Im still debating over just getting my tips bleached - it will be long out of fashion by the time I ever get around to it! I love how the purple looks just as good full on as it does washed out so you dont have to redye all the time.
